A Legacy of Quality and Vision

Our History

Kedisons’ origins trace back to the early 1950s, when its founder, K D Sebastian, first ventured into the coconut oil business, along with K S Abraham. The journey started with humble beginnings, operating as a small trading firm in Kerala, a region known for its rich coconut groves and traditional oil production. By 1974, Kedison Expellers was officially established, marking a significant milestone for the company. Under K D Sebastian’s leadership, the firm quickly grew in reputation for producing high-quality coconut oil, which became a trusted product in households and industries alike.

During the early years, Kedisons focused primarily on local markets, developing a strong customer base within Kerala. Through dedication, quality craftsmanship, and an unwavering commitment to ethical business practices, the company earned a name synonymous with purity and trust. The brand ‘Kedison’ became a staple in many homes, known for its traditional cold-pressed coconut oil, produced using time-honored methods that preserved the oil’s natural richness and nutrients.

As the company expanded, so did its operations. The 1980s and 1990s saw the incorporation of advanced manufacturing techniques, enabling Kedisons to increase production capacity while maintaining the integrity and quality of its products.

The next generation of leadership took over in the 2010, with the family’s vision steering the company into new territories, including exports. Zach Abraham, the current CEO, brought a fresh perspective with his international experience in commodity trading. Kedisons diversified its operations to include the trading of various hard commodities, such as steel and minerals, and expanded its distribution network globally. This strategic shift allowed the company to remain competitive in a rapidly changing global market while staying true to its roots in coconut oil production.

In 2019, the company underwent another transformation under Zach’s leadership, embracing modern business processes, advanced technology, and a forward-thinking approach. Kedisons modernized its production facilities and expanded its product offerings, all while maintaining its core values of transparency, ethical practices, and quality assurance. The company’s sales and distribution network in Kerala became a well-oiled machine, covering nearly 10,000 retail counters and ensuring daily supply to even the remotest locations. This period also marked the beginning of Kedisons’ foray into new product lines, including coconut oil soap and deshelled coconuts, utilizing its own coconut oil to ensure consistency and excellence.

Despite its growth, Kedisons has always remained committed to giving back to the community. The late K D Sebastian’s legacy lives on through the company’s philanthropic activities, which were expanded by K S Abraham, who continues to drive Kedisons’ involvement in various charitable organizations and social welfare projects.

Today, Kedisons is a respected name in both the domestic and international markets, blending its rich heritage with a modern, sustainable approach to business. With a vision of sustainable growth and a commitment to quality, Kedisons is well-positioned to navigate the challenges of the future, while continuing to provide its customers with unmatched, unwavering, and uncompromising products.
